“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” - Romans 10:17
WE BELIEVE...
in the saving faith confessed by the one, Christian and Apostolic Church. The faith that teaches us about the Triune God by whom we are cherished, cared for, and saved by.
God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and the Earth and of all things visible and invisible.
God the Son, the Word, Jesus Christ our Lord, the only-begotten Son of the Father. Begotten, not made. Of one substance with the Father and the Holy Spirit. By whom and for whom all things were made. For us and our salvation, He came down from heaven and took on flesh. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
God the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. Who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified. Who spoke of the coming Messiah, our Lord Jesus, through the prophets before. Our Helper and our Comforter. Promised to the Church by Christ that we may not be orphans in this life and in the life to come. Who lives with and will be in all the believers.
Three persons, co-eternal and co-equal sharing the same, one divine essence.
One God, now and forever.
Amen.
SOLA SCRIPTURA
(SCRIPTURE ALONE)
Holy Scripture is the highest and only infallible authority in the Christian faith. All teaching, doctrine, and pastoral authority are subject to the Word of God. All Scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16–17), written by men carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). Therefore, the Bible is without error and is sufficient for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness. Through the Scriptures, God reveals His will, proclaims His promises, and brings people to faith in Jesus Christ.
SOLA FIDE
(FAITH ALONE)
We are justified before God by faith alone, apart from works. Salvation and eternal life are not earned but are received through faith in Jesus Christ. As it is written, “the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness” (Romans 4:5). Faith itself does not save because of its own strength, but because it clings to Christ—the One who has accomplished our salvation through His life, death, and resurrection.
SOLA GRATIA
(GRACE ALONE)
We are saved by grace alone, not by anything within us. All people are by nature sinful and fall under God’s judgment (Romans 3:10–12). Yet, in His great love, God sent His Son to save the world (John 3:16). Salvation is entirely a gift of God: “by grace you have been saved through faith… not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). Even faith itself is God’s gift, created and sustained by Him, so that our hope rests not in ourselves, but in Christ alone.
